Raise your hand, if you know that life happens? Life happens whether we want it to or not. Divorce happens, death happens, financial hardship happens, getting fired happens, complicated relationships with our family or children happens, and infidelity happens. When life happens, it’s so hard to get through it sometimes. We become entangled in our feelings and emotions, and they rob us of our joy. Many times it can cause us to become depressed, withdrawn, angry, and emotional.

What do you do when life happens? What do you do when you have literally reached the end of your rope, and there isn’t enough rope to tie a knot with and hang on? I clearly remember being in that place one day. I was angry, sad, overwhelmed, and tired. I had a sick husband that needed me, a full-time job, and four kids under the age of 10. I wanted to run away so bad. I wanted to run away from my problems, family, financial burdens, and just start over somewhere new.  I felt inside of me, I just couldn’t take it anymore. I wanted relief from “life.”  Fortunately, I didn’t do any of those things. I called a friend, and we talked about it. She let me know in no uncertain terms, me running away from my problems was not an option. She talked me through it and continued to offer me support, and I got through it.

Today, I can tell you, it’s not over until God says it’s over. I’m happy, successful, thriving, my children are grown, I’m living my dream of inspiring others and helping them live their best life.

No matter what you are going through, know that you will get through it. You have more than enough of everything you need to overcome your challenges and setbacks. Dig deep inside of you and find your strength. There are many ways to climb out of your hole and get back on track. The biggest factor is believing that it’s not over and you will be better than ok again.

Colonel Sanders was rejected 1,009 times before someone agreed to use his secret recipe…it’s not over!

Oprah was fired from her first job as a news anchor…It’s not over!

Tyler Perry was homeless before he achieved success with his plays. He’s now worth 400 million…It’s not over!

Steve Harvey lived in his car for three years, he’s now worth 100 million …It’s not over!

Bill Gates dropped out of college…It’s not over!

Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because he “Lacked imagination and had no good ideas.”…It’s not over!

Don’t give up! It’s not over!

Joyfully,

Shoner
